Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer payment plans on doula fees?

Yes. We want our services to be accessible for as many families as possible. We require a $350 deposit at contract signing, with the remaining balance due by your 36th week of pregnancy. If you have specific questions about financial arrangements, please contact us to discuss your options in greater detail.

Do you accept HSA/FSA payments?

Yes. We always recommend reaching out to your specific account administrator to verify doula services are covered. Once you have the go-ahead, you have the option to either pay with your HSA/FSA card, or with your own funds and receive documents to submit for reimbursement.

Do you ever consider a trade for services?

Yes! We’re very open to discussing partial trades on our services. Some things we’re currently open to trading for: massage therapy, photography, SEO/website assistance, energy work, acupuncture, home improvement/landscaping, and more! Reach out to discuss.

Does a doula replace my partner?

Not at all. Here’s how we like to put it: your partner has an intimate knowledge of you, and we have an intimate knowledge of birth. Between us, we are able to fully support you in whatever ways you need. We love getting partners involved in labor support—we help them help you.

When is the best time to hire a doula?

We’ve had clients hire us the second they get a positive pregnancy test, and others who’ve hired us one week before their scheduled induction. We do, however, recommend reaching out sooner rather than later to ensure we have availability and plenty of time to get to know each other.

Where do you attend births?

We attend births wherever they happen. We have lots of experience supporting families in hospitals, birth centers, and home births. We do not currently attend planned unassisted births (births without a medical care provider).

I’m not totally sure I want to go unmedicated. Do you support people planning an epidural?

We definitely do. We strongly believe that there is no one right way to give birth. Those planning to get an epidural or planned cesarean can greatly benefit from the presence and support of a doula throughout their pregnancy and birth.
